QPR owner Tony Fernandes says new stadium critical to Prem survival

QPR owner Tony Fernandes has stressed the need to move away from their Loftus Road home if the west London club are to continue to thrive in the Premier League.
However, the club look set for a drawn-out legal planning process, with motor dealership Car Giant also determined to redevelop the site QPR have proposed for a new football stadium.

Loftus Road has been the club's base for over a century, but the stadium holds just 18,439 spectators, currently the lowest capacity in the English top flight.

One of the most frequent strikes against the Premier League is that the amount of money involved these days makes it completely unrelatable to the fans -- the players are barely people, but rather cosseted superbeings who exist on another plain, the peak of their profession.
However, one of the nice things about football (and in particular the Prem) is that alongside the likes of Henry and Aguero can exist moments of staggering and hilarious incompetence. This is the division that saw Ali Dia play for a top-level team, a league in which Chris Hutchings has managed three -- three! -- teams.
